DIRECTOR, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT(SCM) & LOGISTICS

 

Reporting to the CFO of Group Lemur Inc., the Director, Supply Chain Management (SCM) & Logistics will be responsible for the overall supply chain operations, which includes departments such as logistics, traffic, warehousing, and order processing from outbound to inbound.

The incumbent responsibilities also include optimizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods.

The goal is to manage the entire supply chain cycle to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control all logistics activities of the subsidiary (transportation, customs, shipping, receiving, inventory, warehousing, and material flow).
  • Planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
  • Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the operations and budget related to transportation, fulfillment, and distribution (internal and external).
  • Directing, optimizing, and coordinating full order cycle.
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and freight.
  • Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
  • Ensure sound management of our financial resources, particularly with respect to transportation and customs costs.
  • Coordinate the implementation and execution of best practices pertaining to distribution, transport and logistics internally and towards our clients and equipment and infrastructures management among others.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transportation & distribution operations.
  • Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
  • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals.
  • Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues.
  • Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly.
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Optimization of warehouse, organization of goods, plan routes and process shipments.
  • Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce.
  • Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
  • Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, administration, industrial engineering, or logistics.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in logistics management or management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven working experience as a Supply Chain Manager 10 years plus.
  • Experience in apparel and wholesale.
  • Experience overseeing cross border and international logistics & operations (export from Asia).
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.
  • Working experience of relevant software.
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Proficient in standard logistics software and WMS System.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Bilingual in both English and French.

 

Specific Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehousing.
  • Familiarity with various computer systems (MRP, ERP, WMS) and Lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement concepts.
